The Boys are Back in Town!

The boys arrived in Paris Thursday afternoon, August 29th.

So good to seem them both, happy and in one piece!  Their motoring experience a memorable success!

We had a great stroll around Paris – through Tuileries Garden, where a woman was hula hooping as gracefully and skillfully as a manta ray might float through water. In these quaffed gardens tucked away is a vegetable garden with lots of different vegetables, even grapes and squash, perhaps pumpkins? Best of all there are bee hives in the gardens, six standing at attention in a meadow. Beautiful crafted light toned wooden boxes. If the bees are happy, I am happy.  We then meandered past the Louvre pyramid and over and under bridges along the Seine.

Back to our little piece of paradise, our flat for a rest of the day, then dinner with Craig’s long time friend, Stas.  I could listen to Stas talk all day and all night!  HIs stories as an ambassador for France are rich and endless.

We started Friday with a stroll along the Seine toward Notre Dame and Shakespeare and Co.

Shakespeare’s cafe delivers theeee best quiche in Paris! There are often sweet potato chunks in it!  Wow, super delic!

Then it was back finding all the nooks and crannies of this city, meandered through Luxembourg Gardens. Found a restuarant we’d been to before serving us the best galettes in Paris! A galette is a buckwheat crepe with savory items in it. Ours vegetables, eggs and of course CHEESE!!!  Later that evening, Alex and I went out to capture sunset at the Louvre, leaving Craig to a little silence. Time and pics were amazing!

Upon arriving home, and attempting to not wake up Craig, we started discussing Alex’s “possible” weight gain, our laughter was so intense, it became difficult to catch our breaths, no less talk! Surprisingly we did not wake up the Craigers.

Saturday was Jeu de Plume one of our absolute favorite spots jn Paris!  A photo, video museum/exhibition space. They always feature three artists, often there is a theme amongst the three. We spent much of the day here.

We got there about 10 minutes before opening and the line had started!  Nice to see it so popular. It’s amazing to be in a crowd of individuals speaking a variety of languages, and watch everyone come together because of a common experience!  In today’s case a funny one! An older couple decided, perhaps because of age, or tunnel vision, or perhaps didn’t see the line?  Well, they waltzed up to the door, peered in, it was 4 minutes before opening. They checked their watched, paced along the doors, finally at a bout 1 minute to opening, they started banging on the door, confused as to why the doors were not open yet at 1 minute to 11!  After all THEY were there!  Oblivious to all of us behind them patiently waiting for Jeu de Puame to organize their ducks and begin their day.  Oh you really can see how some tourists give America a bad name.

The language barrier dissolved for 4 minutes, thanks to a couple from the USA.  All of us in line staring at the couple and then back at one another had some amazing wordless conversations!

With a break for lunch at their cafe nestled between floors we enjoyed our Bento Boxes and went back for a little more art. Our favorite artist, a photographer from America, Sally Manns.  Breathtaking and deep.

The sun hasn’t stopped shining on Paris, on us!
